EARTH THANKS

EARTH THANKS

Dear SONQO Community,

Harvest season is here. The fields are full. The trees are heavy with fruit. The earth is giving back what it received.

But harvest is not only about what you gather. It is about what you recognize. It is about seeing that you did not do this alone. That the soil held you. That the rain came. That the sun was patient. That the hands of others were part of this long, slow unfolding.

This is Earth Thanks. Not a feeling. An action.

Gratitude as Action

Gratitude is not a thought you have. It is a movement you make. A gesture that turns you toward the source. A word that you say not because it is expected, but because it is true.

When you hold a cup of Cacao, you are holding a moment of Earth Thanks. The hands that harvested it. The land that grew it. The rain that watered it. The sun that dried it. The people who carried it to you.

This is not about guilt. It is about recognition.

The Season of Harvest

In the Andean tradition, harvest is not a time of taking. It is a time of returning. A time to give back to the earth what she has given to you. A time to remember that every gift is part of a circle.

This is the spirit of Ayni – sacred reciprocity. The understanding that nothing is taken without being returned. That every thank you is a seed. That every gesture of gratitude is an act of regeneration.

Your Invitation

This season, we invite you to practice Earth Thanks. Not as a thought. As an action.

Light a candle for the soil. Speak a word of gratitude for the rain. Hold your cup of Cacao with both hands and remember where it came from. Offer something back – a prayer, a moment of silence, a gesture of care for the earth that holds you.

And if you feel called to deepen this practice in community, join our gatherings. A space where gratitude becomes action, and action becomes regeneration.

With the conviction that Earth Thanks is not a feeling you have, but a life you live,

Your SONQO Heart
