No mosquitoes, no chocolate – mosquitoes are responsible for pollination, which is essential for the development of cacao plants. It's true. Mosquitoes play a vital role in biodiversity. But then why are there mosquitoes here in Europe?

Perhaps the original "food of the gods" wasn't only found in Africa and South America thousands of years ago? Perhaps the origin of the muse's kiss, as cacao is also affectionately called, reaches back to a time that poses many mysteries today, namely how the indigenous peoples around the globe were well connected and communicated with one another.
