SUN TURNING
Share
Dear SONQO Community,
Have you noticed how the days are growing longer? Not suddenly. Not dramatically. But steadily. Imperceptibly. A few more minutes of light each evening.
The sun is turning. Not away from us. Toward us.
And yet, we hardly notice. Because we are still running. Still rushing. Still moving from one task to the next without ever looking up to see how the light has changed.
The Gift of Slowness
Summer is coming. But summer is not a deadline. It is not a finish line you must cross before the season ends. Summer is an invitation. To slow down. To breathe. To let the light fill the spaces you have been too busy to notice.
This is Sun Turning. Not as an astronomical event. As a spiritual practice.
More Light, Less Hurry
The sun does not rush. It rises. It sets. It moves at its own pace, indifferent to our schedules, our deadlines, our endless lists of things to do.
What if you could live like that for a day? Not rushing. Not pushing. Simply moving with the rhythm of the light.
Why We Resist the Light
We have learned to measure our worth by our speed. By how much we produce. By how fast we can move from one thing to the next. Rest has become laziness. Stillness has become unproductive. And we have lost the simple art of being present.
But the sun does not measure itself by what it produces. It simply shines. It does not justify its existence by its usefulness. It simply is.
And so do you.
The Wisdom of Pachamama Raymi
In the Andean tradition, Pachamama Raymi is a celebration of the great Mother Earth. It is a moment to pause, to give thanks, and to remember that we are not separate from nature – we are part of her. The Earth does not rush. She grows in her own time. She rests when she needs to. She teaches us that life is not a race, but a cycle.
