FOC_US

In our modern world, focus is often seen as an important strategy for concentrating ambitiously, purposefully, or without distraction on goals, plans, performance, and prestige. Most often, it refers to individual gains and achievements. However, when we consider the concept of focus holistically, it takes on a more complex dimension.

The English term FOC_US combines the word US (WE) and the abbreviation FOC (field of concentration). Focus thus refers to the presence and awareness of unity: perceiving, deciding, and acting from a place of WE.

Meditation allows us to observe our conscious or unconscious focus: instead of rigidly focusing on a goal, meditation gives us the space and time to receive and identify our currently dominant focus. We sit in silence and perceive which part of our being makes itself known.

THE PHYSICAL BODY
Ego existence
Structures of the individual

THE MENTAL BODY
We-connection
Social MOVEMENT / DYNAMICS within subgroups or humanity as a whole

THE SUBTLE BODY
All-connectedness
Vibration / Harmony of humanity, animals, insects, plants and minerals

Which aspect of the body makes itself known when sitting still, wants to chatter, to take the lead or control? How does this particular aspect of the body make itself known during meditation?

Meditation repeatedly shows us that in modern everyday life, our attention is often unconsciously devoted to one of three main focuses. By recognizing and accepting this unconscious focus, and thus bringing it into harmony with the other dimensions of existence, we create inner peace, inner harmony, and access to pure joy of life: then love can flow freely and unconditionally in both giving and receiving.

Physical bodies
Being grounded in the physical body means, "I exist," I am present, I am here—with conscious boundaries, strengths, and needs. I embrace the wonderful space in which I receive emotions and transform them into feelings. It is in this perception and inner work that my life takes place.

Mental body
Mental focus is our core concern: it reveals our emotional connection to others and the world. Here, movement arises – interaction with other people and our environment. Empathy, compassion, and the ability to focus on "we" are the cornerstones of this mental body. Constructively focused in the heart means we open the heart of individual communities into a single humanity: we no longer perceive ourselves as individuals, but as humanity. When we are present in heart focus, we can move through the world as a community, guided by compassion.

Subtle bodies
The focus of SEE_LE goes even deeper. It's already in the word itself: here, the individual drop no longer exists as a singular entity, but rather merges with the SEE. Here, we sense the universal interconnectedness of all things through vibrations and energies. The soul's ingenious focus is anything but romantic; it is very consistent in its perception from a place of wholeness and unity. The soul's focus reminds us that we are part of a much larger, all-encompassing system, and that harmony underlies the accord of this interconnectedness.

However, none of the three bodies is better or more important than the others. All three are equally important for a healthy, fulfilling life: their interplay is what makes it work.
