How seductive is efficiency, especially now in the final sprint towards contemplative moments, when the Advent calendar has fewer and fewer packages, the holiday is drawing nearer, time is running out, business deals need to be finalized correctly, the holiday needs to be perfectly prepared, and glorious gifts need to meet expectations?

Efficiency is the modern buzzword: It manifests itself in all areas of life. Modern technology makes it possible, and corresponding communication, imbued with a subtle hint of passive-aggressive pressure, further increases the already high pace. People glorify goal-oriented efficiency while literally hating its little brothers – stress, mistakes, and conflict.

Just as machines work automatically and with maximum efficiency for us, children in today's schools are also trained for efficiency in many situations. They are not supposed to listen to their inner nature, but rather function externally, almost automatically, for a performance-oriented system. In many places, they are taught not to learn and act out of love for their intrinsic interests, but to perform spectacularly in order to be valued and, at best, even loved by adults according to arbitrary standards. Through efficiency, love atrophies into a kind of exchange currency: recognition in exchange for performance.

Processes and communication can be optimized efficiently to such an extent that heart and love are lost along the way.

For a high-quality product like Pachamama Cacao, efficiency management can be the ultimate test: A product as first-class as our Pachamama Cacao quickly achieves high demand. And this is precisely where the wheat is separated from the chaff: Can a successful manufacturer remain calm, focus on organic growth (instead of being immediately seduced by efficiency and optimization in management), while the people involved remain true to their original artisanal motivation and the associated social and environmental values?

How does our farming collective in Peru manage to do this?

The two parts of the word (MANUS = hand and FAKTUR = to make) come from Latin. A manufactory is understood to be a business that combines traditional craftsmanship and modern technologies, while human skill, dexterity, and careful handling of precious resources are indispensable to guarantee high quality.

HAND ON HEART

The hand represents the sun, and the sun, in turn, stands for our luminous connection to the entire cosmos. The heart symbolizes our love for all humanity. Therefore, when we place our hand on our heart, we unconditionally connect our individual existence with all of humanity and the entire cosmos. We bring the awareness of ONENESS – of BEING ALL & ONE – into tangible experience.

Pachamama Cacao is produced holistically with hand and heart in this sense:

1. Pachamama Cacao is made from original seeds that are resistant and require no chemicals or other additives – From a mental perspective: In Cacao Chuncho there is no sense of protection or lack. There is pure love .

2. It thrives in the biodiversity of an intact jungle: It has internalized the natural cycles in interaction with other plants and the climate. – from a mental perspective, Pachamama Cacao embodies abundance .

3. It is harvested from the wild and dried in the sun. – Our natural superfood remains connected to the cosmos via the natural warmth of the sun.

4. It is crafted with human presence, heart, and love. – Pachamama Cacao embodies the powerful unity of humanity.

5. SONQO brings it to you in Europe in a circular economy and reinvests the profits in the farmers' collective's "syntropic farming projects". Pachamama Cacao only creates winners, and above all, our life support system, Mother Earth, benefits from it.

We are incredibly grateful that so many people in South America, Switzerland, Europe and around the world share our vision, are on this journey with us and inspire other people with this form of joie de vivre.

CELEBRATE LOVE

With that in mind – happy holidays and all the best,
Ángel & Aline with the amazing SONQO team
